Magic Kingdom Fireworks - May 4, 2009
Monday night we went back to the Magic Kingdom to ride some rides while the parade was going on and then watched the fireworks. Tanek was able to ride all of his favorite rides while we were there. He stayed awake for the fireworks this time, and he really enjoyed seeing them while sitting on Nana's shoulders. Here are some picutres of the fireworks:
Epcot Fireworks- May 5, 2009
Tuesday evening we went to Epcot to see the fireworks. It was well worth the trip! Here are some pictures, but they don't do the show justice.

Tanek and I went to Disney on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (May 4-6) with Nana and Meme Anita. This time we stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and it was really pretty and peaceful. As soon as we got there, we let Tanek play on the playground for a bit, use the potty (he's being such a big boy!), and get something to drink. Then, he was anxious to get on the DISNEY BUS, so we headed off to the Magic Kingdom. As soon as we walked into the park, there was Pluto taking pictures, so we got in line to see Tanek's favorite character! Having his picture with Pluto just made his day. On our way to find some lunch, we rode the carousel, and then we went to the teacups, Goofy's Barnstormer rollercoaster, a little shopping, and a ride on the train. By then, we were all really hot, so we headed to the resort and let Tanek "swim" for awhile in the kiddie pool. He had such a blast splashing around, putting his head in the water, and making friends with the other kids. Nana has some pictures of Tanek in the kiddie pool on her blog if anyone wants to see them. Here are some pictures of the day:

After dinner at the resort, we headed back to the Magic Kingdom for more fun and fireworks! By the end of the day, Tanek was too worn out to even stay awake on the Disney bus for the trip back to the room! But, he loved every minute of his exciting day!

Easter 2009
We had a nice Easter weekend! Today, we went to church and then had lunch with Mom and Dad, and let Tanek hunt Easter eggs several times. He got his Easter basket this morning before church so he could play with his new "baby bulldozer" before we left. He also got a new "Biscuit" book, chocolate bunnies, peeps, and some little chocolates. We will have to ration the candy out little by little each day so he doesn't eat it all at once. Yesterday we went to Kelly's house and had lunch with Ricky's parents, Kelly, Kary, Kevin, and Granny. We had a nice day there, too, and Tanek had another fun time hunting Easter eggs and learning how to golf with his new clubs that his Aunt Kelly, Kary, and Kevin gave him. He also got a bulldozer t-shirt and Mickey Mouse swimsuit and t-shirt from Mimi and PawPaw, and another bulldozer from Nana and Papa. I did have to take away some of his toys last night because he wouldn't put them away, but eventually he will learn to do what I ask him to do. Anyway, after we finally got the toys put away, Tanek and I attempted to put together his Bunny House. Maybe it was just the wrong time of the day to try it, or maybe it just needs to be attempted when everyone is in the best of moods - I don't know - but I don't think we'll be making a Bunny House next year! Tanek just wanted to eat the bunny house before it could even become a Bunny House! It was a bit frustrating, but I guess it's one of those trial and error things. You never know what will be fun to do until you try. Anyway, here are some pictures of the weekend.

Spring Fun!
A few weeks ago, we let Tanek play in the sprinkler for the first time this year. We bought one of those things with the curvy, wiggly attachments to connect to the hose to make it more fun. It doesn't actually work as well as I would have liked it to, but Tanek had a good time!

Disney, Disney, Disney - February 22-23, 2009!
Tanek continued his birthday celebration at Disney on Sunday and Monday. Mom, Meme Anita, and I took him to all 4 parks in two days! We started out at Animal Kingdom where Tanek got to see Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto. He got to see Pluto up close, but we couldn't get pictures because he was leaving for a photo shoot. Tanek didn't really care about the pictures, he was just excited to see him. Pluto is his new favorite character. We did get pictures with Minnie and Goofy, though.
Sunday night we went to the Magic Kingdom for the fireworks and extra magic hours. Tanek decided it was nap time on the bus ride over and then proceeded to sleep through the fireworks. We woke him up to eat dinner and then he was ready for the rest of the night. We rode all of his favorite rides until midnight before calling it a night. Here are pictures of some of the fireworks, although pictures don't do them justice.
We thought the reflection of the castle in the water was really pretty at night.
Here is Tanek at the room before we left for the Magic Kingdom. As you can see, he is all decked out and ready to see Mickey Mouse!
"It's dark in here, I can't see, where'd Tanek go?" "Here I am!" This is Tanek's new game that he thinks is sooo funny!

This is the Pop Century Resort where we stayed. We were in the 1970's section which had the huge Mickey Mouse phone, foosball, and Big Wheel. Tanek was especially fond of the big wheel since he has one just like it, only much smaller!
We also introduced Tanek to Mr. and Mrs. Potatohead.
On Monday, we went to Hollywood Studios so Tanek could see Playhouse Disney Live! which is one of his favorite things to do. He loves seeing the characters from his favorite shows! Of course, we also went to see Towie and Mine, too. Then we went to Epcot, rode Spaceship Earth, and ate at the restaurant in Mexico before coming home. All in all, we all had a great time. Having Meme Anita with us made it so much more fun, probably because she gets as excited as Tanek does about anything Disney! Tanek got even more spoiled with all of the toys we bought him. He especially loves his toy disney buses because that is his absolute favorite "ride" at disney - riding the disney bus! Meme Anita had pictures of us taken with Mine and Towie and then bought us a picture frame with Mine and Towie on it as a momento of our trip. Thank you for the memories Meme Anita! We had such a good time and can't wait to go again!
